Article - Help for Personal Injury Victims at Paul Finn Solicitors (28/09/2007)

If you have been injured as a result of someone else’s negligence then the law says that you are entitled to compensation for your loss. In recent years, this area of law has been somewhat tarnished and we hear lots of talk of solicitors being “ambulance chasers” who foster a “compensation culture”, and that may hardly be surprising when the press report:

• A prison inmate suing the Home Office after falling out of his bunk bed

• A teacher suing her employers for emotional distress for failing to replace a chair that made flatulent noises when she sat on it

• A tenant who sued his housing association after he was injured jumping out of his window to avoid being caught by his girlfriend who came home unexpectedly while he was entertaining another woman.

But accidents and injuries come in all shapes, sizes and types – from road traffic accidents, accidents at work, “slips and trips”, you might even suffer an accident in your own home as a result of a defective product. Injuries may range from a minor whiplash or a simple fracture up to the most catastrophic of injuries. The after effects can cause a minor disruption to your life or can result in significant and long-term changes.

What each accident does have in common is that for the person suffering them, they can be a very stressful and concerning time (probably in more ways than one for old Casanova when his girlfriend finally caught up with him!)

Paul Finn Solicitors have experience of acting in a wide range of personal injury claims, expeditiously and sympathetically. We offer a first free appointment and can act on a no win no fee basis if other funding is not available. We are happy to meet with you at our offices (in Bude or Holsworthy) or at your home if you are unable to travel, and out of normal office hours if that is more convenient for you.
